About Me

About Us

Hi, I’m Angsuman, a visual art practitioner based in Assam. I specialize in large scale murals, sculptures, and immersive

visual narratives that transform spaces and tell meaningful stories.

With 8+ years of experience in mural art and over a decade as a visual art practitioner, my practice bridges fine art and visual communication. I hold a degree in Painting from Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya and have worked extensively across state and national projects, public spaces, and private commissions.

My work is rooted in culture, displaying the contemporary issues in it's core themes.

Artist Statement

Art, to me, is inherently multi-dimensional. It should never be confined to a single medium,
surface, or style. I begin every work by listening to what the subject itself demands, and only
then do I decide the material, form, and visual language it needs. This approach keeps me
constantly experimenting—with surfaces, techniques, ideas, and materials—across murals,
sculpture, painting, and wildlife-centered art.

Large-scale murals are where I feel most at home. I believe that in a contemporary world, an
artist should not remain limited to one aesthetic or medium. Creativity evolves when we explore
every possibility, including the digital realm, which expands how art can live and communicate.

I am deeply drawn to public art because it belongs to everyone. Gallery art often speaks to a
specific audience, but public art transforms shared spaces and becomes accessible to people
from all walks of life. That inclusivity—art meeting people where they are—is what inspires me.

Nature and new ideas are my strongest sources of inspiration. I gravitate toward innovative,
progressive themes that push my practice forward and allow my work to stay dynamic, open, and
ever-evolving.

PAWA – Public Art for Wildlife Awareness

PAWA (Public Art for Wildlife Awareness) is an initiative dedicated to creating public art that
highlights the importance of wildlife conservation and ecological balance. The goal is simple yet
powerful: to use murals and visual storytelling as tools to spark awareness, empathy and
responsibility towards nature.

Through large-scale murals in public spaces, PAWA aims to make conversations about

endangered species, disappearing habitats and biodiversity accessible to everyone—not just to
those who visit galleries or cultural spaces. Each artwork is placed intentionally where people
live, move and interact, so that awareness becomes a part of their everyday environment.

Our Vision

To bridge the gap between people and nature through art that educates, inspires and emotionally
connects. PAWA believes that public spaces can become open classrooms, where visual
narratives encourage communities to recognise their role in protecting wildlife.

Our Approach

PAWA collaborates with artists, organisations, schools and local communities to create murals
based on real species, local ecology and conservation themes. Every artwork is supported by
research and designed to resonate with the specific region it belongs to—turning walls into
impactful reminders of the fragile beauty around us.

Mission

To use the power of public art to cultivate a deeper connection between people and the natural
world, inspiring them to protect wildlife and the environment for future generations.
